About the publishers

The Hand Magazine is created by Adam Finkelston and James Meara.

Adam Finkelston (Owner, Publisher, Co-Editor) is an artist and educator based in Prairie Village, KS. Mr. Finkelston holds an MA in Photography from the University of Missouri- Kansas City (UMKC), a BFA in Photography from the Kansas City Art Institute, and a BA in Art Education from UMKC. His artwork has been featured in numerous exhibitions and publications, and he has won several awards for his work.

James Meara (Co- Editor, Lead Designer) is an artist and educator currently residing in Providence, RI. James holds an MFA in Printmaking from the University of New Mexico and received his BA in Art Education from Emporia State University in 2008, where he majored in printmaking and art education. His work has been featured in several group and solo exhibitions.

In addition to working on this magazine, both Adam and James exhibit their own art work throughout the United States. They have curated numerous exhibitions for The Hand Magazine (see our Exhibitions page) as well as for LA Photo Curator, Core New Art Space (Denver, CO), and the SE Center for Photography (Greenville, SC).
